i received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review all opinions below are my own.3.5 starswhen i received an email from entangled teen telling me that the replacement crush was getting a spin off novel, i was so excited but then i realized that i remember absolutely nothing about the book except for how cute it was, and i was worried that it would ruin my reading experience for the bookworm crush fortunately, other than the setting and the characters, the bookworm crush has a plot fully independent of that of the previous novel, and the author threw in explanations whenever necessary people who love us always find a way to show it while they re here, somehow i think they still find a way, even when they ve moved on to the stars.amy, the protagonist, is a huge bookworm, and i could really relate to her the bookworm part, not the being sweet part i m salt than sugar, thank you very much i love books about bibliophiles, especially those who share about their reading experiences online, and it s so amazing seeing amy become confident through sharing her love of books on social media she s also super sweet and treats her friends and family with so much kindness and love, my heart practically melted and also, i screamed every time she makes a bookish film reference red, white and royal blue was even mentioned the author has sure done a lot of research on the latest ya novels amy grabbed one of her latest favorites, a gay romance about the prince of England falling in love with the son of the united states president.the romance was also extremely cute i loooove the opposites attract and fake relationship tropes and they are done so well in the bookworm crush toff is a popular and confident surfer who spends about 95% of his time at the beach and never reads, while amy is a huge bookworm with a great love for romance novels, but is really shy and always lets her friend, vivian, do all the talking on their blog and booktube channel amy and toff complement each other so well toff slowly coaxes amy out of her shell and teaches her to believe in herself and speak out, while amy introduces toff to the wonderful world of reading i was rooting for the two of them from the very beginning i loved the whole plot and romance and setting, but sadly something really bugged me out and it was that none of the characters actually acted like teenagers they sometimes say and do the most stupid things, and sometimes i forget they re eighteen year olds because they act like they re twelve that put me off and really affected my enjoyment of the novel, so i can only give this book a 3.5 star rating in the end the bookworm crush was overall a very fun read except for the teenagers not really acting like teenagers part , and i hope i ll get to read of lisa brown roberts s work soon the book will be released on the october 1st, 2019, and i can t wait for the rest of the world to give it a try this review first appeared on my book blog, marshmallow pudding https marshmallowpudding.home.blog

ARC provided by EdelweissThe Bookworm Crush was a cute, rom com that I think book lovers will enjoy It had young characters that were dealing with grief, fears, and understanding the complexity of love Some of the references writing was cheesy and I found some of it predictable However, I think it s a book that avid readers will enjoy since it relates to the bookstagram world An easy, lighthearted read.Content warnings grief, sex, and lot s of book movie references

I received a free eARC from Netgalley for a voluntary and honest review All thoughts and opinions are my own Book review The bookworm crush by Lisa Brown Roberts 3.5 stars The bookworm crush by Lisa Brown Roberts Genre YA, Romance, contemporaryRating 3.5 5 stars Synopsis from Goodreads This spinoff of The Replacement Crush featuring Amy and Toff is sure to melt your heart.Shy bookworm Amy McIntyre is about to compete for a dream scholarship, and the only way to win is to transform from sidekick to the heroine of her own life But that level of confidence has never come easy. The solution A competition coach The problem The best person for the job is the guy she s secretly crushing on local surfer celebrity Toff Nichols. He s a player He s a heartthrob He makes her forget basic things, like how to breathe How can she feel any confidence around him To her surprise, Toff agrees to help And he s an excellent teacher Amy feels braver maybe even brave enough to admit her feelings for him When their late night practices become less about coaching and about making out, Amy s newfound confidence wavers. But does Toff really like her or is this just another lesson Review DISCLAIMER All thoughts and opinions are my own I screamed at all the bookish references, the fake dating trope along with the references as I really related to the book within the first few chapters. This book is literally what I wished for in a romance and I am just DEAD at how cute Amy and Toff are together My heart was clenching and swooning so much, my favourite scene had to be the one where Toff is on pain meds, he was SO CUTE in that scene.I really swooned a lot and really enjoyed and related to the story All fans of fake dating and bookish references should definitely check this book out

First of all, I had never heard of yarn bombing or kniffiti I absolutely thought it was a joke I felt silly googling it, sure the author had made it up You could ve knocked me over with a feather when I discovered this is a actually a thing This was a cute teen romance It wasn t really my style and I found it a bit of a struggle to get into, but it was okay I think I wasn t really the target audience for this one I think teens would really enjoy it, though.

I received a digital ARC of this title from Edelweiss for an honest review.Amy LOVES to read and romance is her genre of choice She s also super shy But when the opportunity arises to participate in an Instagram challenge where the winner gets to meet and interview a famous romance author, Amy is all in The only problem is her lack of confidence So she solicits help from the local surfing champion, who also happens to be her long time crush What could go wrong This sweet YA romance is full of nerdy book references, as well as quite a few other pop culture references And those involved in bookstagram will find many familiar things here to enjoy Overall, I enjoyed this one You should be aware that it s a sequel Edelweiss didn t say that, or I wouldn t have gotten it But there s one glaring obvious mistake right in the first paragraph and I almost stopped reading in protest The very first paragraph has the heroine wishing for a magic wand like Professor Mcgonagal so she could put out some street lights Seriously What kind of booknerd are you It was Professor Dumbledore Ron Weasley is also acceptable and it was a deluminator put outer is also acceptable Gah

My Recommendation 3.5 out of 5 starsThe Bookworm Crush by Lisa Brown Roberts is your typical opposites attract love story The book is about a young introverted girl named Amy who is trying to win a contest To increase her chances, she solicits the help of a popular surfer named Toff to help her gain confidence and win the contest The story is a very appealing teen romance Both characters are very likable and in my opinion very relatable The book touches on issues that many young readers may be experiences The characters deal with grief, self doubt, and the complexity of love I enjoyed the book even though I am not the target audience In my opinion, I felt that the book was a little too long Some parts felt unnecessary or redundant.

Amy and Toff have known each other since primary school but only now that they are 18 and Amy is preparing to take part in a book competition their paths cross She s a shy introvert passionate about book, he is a surf God, such an unlikely couple The time they spend together helping each other out they they fall in love There s only one problem Toff doesn t to relationships Will Amy have her own Darcy or will she have to deal with a broken heart It s for you to find out.At the beginning of the book I had the feeling that it s going to be this sort of a chick lit book where everything is the same and easily predictable, but I was positively suprised to be gripped in it completely especially from the middle til the end Definitely swoonworthy.

I recieved an ARC of this book in return for an honest review The Bookworm Crush has everything I look for in a contemporary read two protagonists who give me very high expectations in love, comedic relief, and a lot of book and pop culture references I loved that Toff helped Amy come out of her shell , and encouraging her to be confident, while Amy was able to get Toff to understand why she loved books and was a sucker for romance I will admit there were some parts where it kind of dragged a scene out but for the most part it really was an easy enjoyable read If you re looking for a cutesy YA romance, this is it

  10. says:

This lighthearted read was one that was adorable I loved the cover and the opening really got the story going I loved the easy to follow writing style the author used as I was looking for something to read on the lighter side The pacing worked out well for this story and the characters were a hit I loved quirky and cheesy romance with Amy and Toff Although this was predictable I think that for this story it was fine If you are looking for something cute and cuddly to fill your weekend this is one to check out
